The California Initiative to Advance Precision Medicine (CIAPM) is hiring two Science Officers.  For additional information and to apply, please see:  Job Details-Science Officer- 48796BR

CIAPM is a partnership between the State of California, the University of California, and other public and private entities. Its aim is to help build infrastructure and assemble the resources necessary to advance precision medicine in the state. To illustrate the power and application of precision medicine, CIAPM selects and supports patient-focused collaborative demonstration projects that leverage the state’s investment with private funds and in-kind support.

The Science Officer, CIAPM will oversee the execution of demonstration projects, support communication and outreach for the demonstration projects and CIAPM, assist in organizing workshops and other convening activities, and otherwise support CIAPM.

The Science Officer will report to the executive director of the CIAPM and the director of the Institute for Computational Health Sciences (ICHS), and will work with leadership from UCSF (particularly the vice chancellor of science policy and strategy), the Governor’s Office, the Office of Planning and Research (OPR), the Governor’s Precision Medicine Advisory Committee, and the UC Office of the President, to ensure the timely and successful completion of the scope of work for the CIAPM.

The incumbent will be hired as an employee of UCSF within the Institute for Computational Health Sciences (ICHS).  ICHS is a critical component of a global UCSF initiative in Precision Medicine, which seeks to aggregate and integrate vast, disparate datasets to advance understanding of biological processes, determine mechanisms of disease, and inform prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease. To this end, ICHS hosts strategic initiatives that align with its strengths and the institution’s commitment to advancing precision medicine.
